Loading...We are pleased to announce that beginning on May 1 Gracie Dover will join the diocesan staff as special assistant. She will be a front desk presence and offer hospitality to Diocesan House guests. She will also give staff support to other Diocesan House staff. She is currently working with Grace Point Camp and Retreat Center, and will continue to provide support for Grace Point.
“I first met Gracie during the bishop walkabouts in July,” said Bishop Cole. “I was impressed with her positive energy and the warm welcome she extended to all of us who visited Grace Point during our initial visit here.”
Gracie is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She moved to East Tennessee after she graduated from the University of Alabama in 2016 with a degree in American Studies and Journalism. While she was in college, she spent three summers on Grace Point summer staff, serving as both counselor coordinator and staff leader. Following her graduation, she served as the program director at Grace Point, and the director of Youth and Children’s Ministries at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Farragut.
Brad Jones, Grace Point Camp and Retreat Center executive director has high praise for Gracie. “She is energetic, always helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile,” he said. Gracie currently provides marketing, registration, and promotion support for Grace Point and that support will continue in her new position, including parish visits to share information and promote Grace Point. “I’m excited about the opportunity for her at the Diocesan House and excited she will still continue to help with Grace Point,” he said.
“I’m grateful that Gracie is willing to join the Diocesan House team,” Bishop Cole said. “She will add greatly to our common work life here. In this season in the Diocese of East Tennessee, we are all being invited to practice resurrection and build bridges of reconciliation and assist parishes in their work. I know Gracie is excited to offer her gifts for such work now.”
“I’m very much looking forward to this job,” Gracie said. “I think it’s a great opportunity. I love living in East Tennessee and I love the Diocese of East Tennessee, so it will be great to work at the Diocesan House. I’m excited to see where this leads me.”
