Loading...1,000 Clergy and thousands more Laity, people from all faiths, will join at the King Memorial in Washington, D.C. at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 28, for a March to the Justice Department to renew the “Dream of America” for justice, freedom, love and peace among all peoples. 2017 marks the 54th Anniversary of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech that moved America. “We renew the dream,” proclaims the Rev. Al Sharpton who leads the National Action Network, host and organizer for the event.
Episcopalians from East Tennessee are leading an “East Tennessee to Washington, D.C.” caravan with groups now forming to travel to the nation’s capitol for the March. “We invite everybody from all traditions, all faiths, all sections of East Tennessee, and beyond to join us at this important time to stand, witness and march for the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” stated the Bishop George Young, “Let us dream on!”
